For seven years the International Department has its own student self-government. Students master the organizational skills, make their life more interesting and memorable. They fill it with outstanding events.

The superviser’s school assists the active students in showing their worth in their work with freshmen, in helping them to adapt and getting accustomed to the traditions of the university.

Students of the International Department take part in the cultural life of the university and the department, participate in different constructive groups of the South Ural State University. They are always win various contests.

The department is rich in traditions. On the first day of studying there is the traditional excursion around the university which is lead by student-supervisors for “former schoolchildren” so that they would easily fit in the new university life. First-year students make special newspapers “That’s us” as an easier and funnier way of getting introduced to each other and becoming united.

For two years now on the birthday of the University the students of the International Department have been making cakes. For New Year they decorate a Christmas tree. They also celebrate Halloween and Pancake Day. This year’s student dedication party was held in retro style. Each year there are more and more freshmen who are eager to show themselves in the Talent Contest. The traditional spectacular festival – Miss International Faculty – is an unforgettable event, a triumph of beauty and grace. There is also a new project called “Let’s go, guys” for real man where they can show there talents.

Students have an opportunity of spending their summer and winter holidays in the best recreation centers such as “Sosnovaya Gorka”, “Olymp”, and the ski resort “Solnechnaya Dolina”.

There are many sportsmen who uphold the honor of the International Department in various competitions.
